Group enjoying lunch at trailhead.

Our annual fundraiser and open house on June 16th was by all accounts a wonderful success. The weather cooperated (it might have been a bit hot in the afternoon at the trail head); but the sun shone and there was a light breeze to cool us off. At one point it was estimated there might have been approximately 120 – 140 people out on the trail or enjoying hot dogs and cookies at the picnic tables at the trail head. Thanks to everyone who came out to support us and a special thanks to all the volunteers who put it together and made it happen.

Hope some of you got out to the trail several times during the summer to enjoy the ever-changing array of flora and fauna; if not, try coming out this fall to enjoy the tamarack as it turns golden. There’s always something different to see along the trail. The gate is open daily until October 31st, but will be closed just before dusk.
